Cancelling your subscription
To cancel a recurring monthly Sling subscription, sign in to your My Account dashboard and select Cancel Subscription.
- Your Sling access will continue until the date of your next regular bill, but you won’t be charged again.
- We’ll send you an email confirming your cancellation.
1 Day, 3 Day, and 7 Day Passes cannot be paused or cancelled.
- Your Sling Orange access will end automatically when the subscription expires, and you won’t be charged again until you buy another pass.

Pause your subscription
To take a planned break from Sling and skip the hassle of resubscribing, you can pause instead of cancelling. To pause, sign in to your My Account dashboard and select Pause Subscription..
- You can pause for 1, 2, or 3 months. After your selected duration, your subscription will automatically restart.
- Pause periods match your existing billing cycle and will begin on the date of your next scheduled bill.
- For example, if you signed up for service on January 18, you can pause until February, March, or April 18.
- We’ll save your DVR recordings for you.
- You’ll still be able to watch over 600 free channels with Sling Freestream.
To keep watching your DVR recordings even while taking a break from your subscription, you can choose Pause Extra. For a $5 monthly deposit, you get all the benefits of pause listed above, plus you can:
- Keep watching content you’ve already recorded to your DVR.
- Watch live channels and on demand content from Paramount+ with Showtime.
- Get your monthly deposit back when your Sling subscription restarts.
Pause options aren't available for:
- 1 Day, 3 Day, or 7 Day Passes
- Customers using promotions (prepay bundles, free trials)
- Those paying only with a gift card or BitPay
- Subscriptions made through Apple Pay, Google Pay or other third party billing services

If you recently cancelled your Sling subscription, you’ll continue to receive service until the end of your current billing cycle.
Even when your account is paused or cancelled, you can watch over 600 free channels on Sling Freestream.
If you’ve paused your subscription and want to restart your service early, log in to My Account and select Restart Now.
If you’ve cancelled your subscription, log in to My Account and select Resubscribe.
Content you recorded with a Sling subscription will be unavailable when your subscription is cancelled. However, we’ll save those recordings for you for 90 days in case you resubscribe.
Whenever you have an active short-term pass subscription or recurring monthly subscription, your recordings will be in your DVR library.
If you’ve recorded more than 10 hours of Freestream programming, older recordings will be deleted until they fit into the 10 hours of storage available with a Freestream account.
No. You’ll still need to sign in to My Account and cancel your subscription.
If you’re experiencing long load times or other errors while trying to cancel, try using a private or incognito tab. You can also try clearing your browser cache.
If you tried to cancel your subscription but are still seeing charges, there are a few things you can check:
- Make sure your account was actually canceled
- Sign in to your account
- If your account is canceled, the My Account page will display options to restart your service (do not select this option if you don’t wish to restart)
- If the account hasn’t been canceled, scroll down and select Cancel Subscription.
- Sign in to your account
- Check that you don’t have another account
- We can help you check which email address is associated with the card that’s being charged.
- Enter a few details on the forgot email page.
- Sign in to your account using that email address, and cancel the subscription from there. You can always reset your password if needed.
- If we’re unable to locate an account, or if you don’t recognize the email address returned, tell the chatbot about the problem to get more help.
- We can help you check which email address is associated with the card that’s being charged.
Yes! You can always sign in to your My Account dashboard and select Cancel Subscription.
Please note: if you’re signed up for Pause Extra and cancel before your subscription is set to restart, your $5/mo deposit won't be credited back to you.
If you have a Sling account just to watch Freestream channels, you’re not being charged for the service, so there’s no need to cancel.
Because passes are short-term subscriptions, they cannot be cancelled or paused. The subscription will end automatically when time is up, and you won’t be charged again until you buy another pass.
No, we only provide refunds for special circumstances, not for the cancellation of prepaid or partial months of service.
